The recent earthquake that shook to Peru (15 August of 2007), had its located epicenter in 13.416°S, 76.436°W, being Pisco the most  affected city.

The earthquake of intensity 7,9 in the Ricther scale was able to kill more than 500 people and wound near 2000 ones, apart from the great losses produced both in the infrastructure of the country.

In addition to Pisco, Ica, Chincha and Cañete are the most affected localities, although the capital, Lima, was also shaken by the tremor. Panic scenes were lived among the population who had to leave their homes and places of work, and in some cases, they had to pass the night in the streets.

The Minister of Health, who travelled to the city of Ica, located 300 kilometers away from the south of the capital, described the impressive scene who had found: destroyed buildings and roads and people sleeping outdoors.

In Ica, it has been improvised many hospitals in order to take care of wounded people in the middle of the dark, since the telluric movement ended with the electrical fluid.

The collapsed buildings, among them were a church, the arena of the city and a lot of houses, did not allow to carry out the rescue tasks.

During an interview in the public television from the bordering city of Chincha, the minister Vallejo declared that hospitals are not able to give supply and described the situation as “impressive and devastating” through his passage by Pisco

 Brief historical review of Pisco

The first name of Pisco, according to journalists, was San Gallán. After the century XVI, the use of the word “Pisco” became more frequent by the brandy of grape that was elaborated in the valley of Pisco and denominated by the dock workers as the "licor of Pisco". According to history, it was Don Francisco Pizarro, who in 1523 declared that don Nicolás de Ribera, “the Old”, had to found the population of San Gallán. Nevertheless, there is a mention about a population with the name of Magdalena de Pisco.

On the 23rd. of November 1640, Pisco obtained the title of Villa, given by the Virrey Don Pedro Toledo y Leyva, Marques de Mancera, recognizing this date like the day of San Clemente, saint patron of the town of Pisco from that moment.

On the 8th. September of 1820, Pisco was the place of the glorious disembarkation of Jose of San Martin in the bay of Paracas.

PISCO

  Source: Investigation and own Rectification.

The city of Pisco is associated with the famous ardent water which has the same name, manifesting the existing aspect in the chart of Pisco where Neptune is squared to the MC.
The pisco is a genuinely Peruvian drink, which is the result of the adaptation of the stock brought by the Spaniards to the new conquered continent. The main bases of the Pisco are the stakes of grapevine and the knowledge in the crop of this plant contributed by the Spaniards, who added all the processes and adaptation which gave the ardent water the particular characteristics of its surroundings.

 The name of Pisco.

Pisco is an originating word of the quechua that means small bird or bird, appearing in the articles arrived with the first conquerors. Thus, Cieza de Leon in his chronicle General of Peru in 1550 wrote: “Pisco is the name of the birds”. Also, it is pertinent to indicate that the Pisco word is part of a great number of Peruvian towns, regions and small villages, like Piscohuasi (House of birds) in Ancash; Piscotuna (fruit of birds) in Ayacucho; Piscopampa (Pampas of birds) in Arequipa, Piscobamba (Plain of birds) in Apurimac, among others. In the same way, the quechua word Pisco is present in typical Peruvian surnames like Pisconte, Piscoya, Piscocolla, etc.

According to Fernando Lecaros: when the Spaniards seeded in a vast extension of
vineyards, they employed Indians in the small manufacture of tinajas, which served to conserve, sell and transport the liquors of grape recently created that received the name of Pisco.

 Astrological analysis

The nature of the Earthquake is of the type Saturn/Neptune

The city of Pisco is characterized by the Saturn/Neptune Cycle, since the city was born during the phase of the crescent Square of the Saturn/Neptune Cycle. Undoubtedly, this cycle is related to the destructive earthquake that suffered the city of Pisco. On the other hand, the Prenatal Eclipse is also involved with Saturn/Neptune, located in 21º Scorpio.

Saturn is located very next to the IC of Pisco in a delicate square to Neptune, showing the continuous threat that this city has in relation to the instability of its ground and the threat that the sea represents. Saturn/Neptune can be interpreted as the city is not on a safe land.

The ASC= 04º38' Sagittarius, of Pisco, with the Sun/Mercury opposed is also important to take into account. This issued can be seen both in this earthquake and the one of 1682, with Moon/Mars and the Tidal wave of 1687, with Moon/Neptune. The ASC represents the experience that the city lives.

The available information about Peruvian earthquakes has been studied in detail (Stolen Alva, 1981), compiling the historical and the present information of this century referring to the phenomenon of ground liquefaction. It has been tried to find evidences about this phenomenon, such as the formation of small volcanos of mud and sand, the violent expulsion of water from the ground, the presence of intense cracking of the land, the differential establishments, the loss of lifting capacity and the collapse of structures, the loss of resistance of slopes and embankments and the loss of lateral resistance of piles and caissones during the earthquakes. The literature of Peruvian earthquakes indicates the phenomenon of the ground liquefaction. In my opinion, the last earthquake of Pisco is associated with the problem of ground liquefaction, which is analogous with the symbol of Saturn/Neptune. The action of this planetary pair in aspect or acting in Mid Point can be seen, for example, in the great earthquake of Chimbote, happened on the 31st. May of 1970 at 16:23 hours (+4), in the same PM=Saturn/Neptun=22º30'Acuario. Another example was the last great earthquake that suffered Arequipa on 23rd. June of 2001 at 20:33:14 GMT, where Saturn/Neptune is also in SesquiSquare to 23º11' Leo, which was a case of ground liquefaction as well.

I display a concept that is important because it says that earthquakes which take place on cities and towns of the Peruvian coast have their origin in the impact of the Tectonic Plate of Tacna with the South American Plate. At least in the most important earthquakes there is a clear action of Saturn/Neptune, acting around 20º-25º of the Fixed Signs and 5º-10º of the Cardinal Signs.

On 20th August of 2007, in the Argentine Channel of TN News at 12:00 hours (+3) an interview was spread from the Penitentiary of Chincha where near 600 prisoners escaped by the destruction of the earthquake. The Minister of Justice of Peru, Mrs. Maria Zabala, and the Vice-president of the Penitentiary National Institute Dr Manuel Aguilar said: “… the ground declined, water flowed from the floor…” “… the water flowed, it has sunk … (in reference to the ground)”, the declarations of the civil employees confirm the characteristics of the liquefaction of the grounds where these Peruvian cities are based, being a characteristic of earthquakes with the nature Saturn/Neptune.

 Analysis of ciclical Chart

Marte/Neptuno oposite to  Saturn in Angular Houses, over axis  MC/IC of  Pisco.

New Moon Leo 2007

The Lunation in Leo in conjunction to Mercury/Saturn/Venus, opposed to Neptune on the Axis ASC/DSC and Squared to the MC/IC. Observe that the degree 23º of Leo is occupied by Venus Radix of the natal chart of Peru, being the regent of the ASC of Peru. This position of Venus, is also affected in the most sad earthquake of Peru, like the one of Chimbote in 1970. Saturn/Neptune=22º30' in Aquarius also demonstrates the importance of Venus as the regent of Peru.

Another planetary pair that it is important to analyze is Mars/Uranus, that appears angular in the Earthquake, and the PM=26º38'Aries conjunction to Saturn radix of Peru, being squared to the MC progressed of Peru, that is located in 26º22' Capricorn!
